MRS. CIRASA'S CLASS HAPPENINGS

MAY 2019

In math, we are finishing chapter 10 representing data (using picture graphs, bar graphs and tally charts).  We’ll start chapter 11, which is about 3-dimensional geometry. Students will learn vocabulary words such as: cone, cube, curved surface, cylinder, flat surface, rectangular prism, and sphere. In addition, they will learn to describe these shapes according to their attributes.

In writing, students are finishing fictional writing and moving on to poetry. In reading, students are reading fictional stories and learning about story elements.

Our quote this month is by Walt Disney, he said: “There’s more treasure in books than in all of Treasure Island.”
